What you are is enough. What you are doing is enough.

What you are is enough.

What you are doing is enough.

It is our ego that raises the bar and tells us we aren’t enough.

It is the patriarchy that raises the bar and tells us we are insufficient.

It is that insidious voice in our heads that tells us we are trapped for a lifetime.

You are worthy simply by being you.

You have been placed here exactly as you should be.

My prayer for you is that you will be set free from the bondage of the awful thinking that you are less than and therefore unable to make your dreams come true.

I remember that feeling of unworthiness so well. That feeling came from making bad decisions in my relationships, being indecisive in my work, being apathetic to those who were suffering, and hesitating to live out my divine assignment.

Pull out a piece of paper and take 15 minutes to answer these questions:

How have you prevented yourself from moving forward in your life?

Where have you not taken action because you couldn’t control the outcome?

I have prevented myself from moving forward in my life by believing that I was not skinny enough, smart enough, or kind enough to be unconditionally loved.

I have not taken action to pitch certain gigantic national conferences because I couldn’t guarantee they would say yes to my proposal.

The only way to quit playing the fool is to know that you are perfectly, deliciously, wonderfully awesome just the way you are.

There are no hard and fast rules to rebellion.

Carry on.

Love,

Dr. Melissa Bird
